EU Projects

Compedia is working with Sony Labs, the University of Bologna and a number of other European academic institutions under the EU FP7 framework to develop an innovative new way to teach music to young children.
Compedia has also joined with Cambridge computer labs, Cambridge ARC institute, TUM University and others to propose a next generation multimodal interface for promoting the skills of children with communication disabilities. We’ve been supplying our technical knowhow and platforms as well as our business and marketing experience to these exciting projects in conjunction with our project partners.

Cooperation With Governmental And Non Governmental Organizations

Compedia offers its skills and expertise in support of governmental and non-governmental (NGO) educational projects. We’ve also worked with a variety of governmental agencies to deliver unique projects, exploiting our software, content and skills to help children who are sick, vulnerable, socially neglected, new immigrants and those from at-risk backgrounds.

About The MIROR Project

The MIROR Project deals with the development of an innovative adaptive system for music learning and teaching. It is designed to develop a new platform that will aid specific cognitive abilities in the field of music improvisation, both in formal learning contexts (kindergartens, primary schools, music schools) and informal ones (at home, kinder centers, etc.). It is based on the idea of letting users manipulate virtual copies of themselves, through specifically designed machine-learning software. The MIROR consortium brings together prominent European universities and research institutes and companies and combines the knowledge of technical partners and psycho-pedagogical ones. ASC Inclusion Project

This project works with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC or ASD). The project will combine several state-of-the art technologies in one comprehensive environment, including analysis of users’ gestures, facial and vocal expressions, training through games, text chatting, animation, video and audio visual feedback. The project was initiated by Compedia and the Autistic Research Centre (ARC) at the University of Cambridge, together with Bar Ilan University, with technology cooperation from Cambridge Computer Lab (CCL) and important contributions from the University of Genoa and the Technical University of Munich. The systems will be tested and validated by the Karolinska Institute, Cambridge ARC and Bar Ilan University.
